FILMMAKER KICKOFF EVENT - The Comedy Film Challenge 2026
The kickoff event, every team receives the same required filmmaking elements: a random genre, character, prop, and line of dialogue. Teams then race, write, shoot, edit and submit their film required to also be a comedy!

About The Event
The funniest and most fun film competition of the year is almost here! The Comedy Film Challenge is 48-hour filmmaking competition where teams have just 48 hours to create a comedy genre mash-up short film.
All completed films premiere on the big screen at our Screening & Awards Ceremony at the @elpasocomicstrip on Sunday, August 9th at 4 PM, where judges and the audience celebrate the funniest and most creative films to see who take the top prize of Outstanding Comedy Film
